This week I'm speaking with Grammy Award Winning musician Brittany Howard! Brittany is the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter for the band Alabama Shakes. Most recently, she released her debut solo album called "Jamie." With her European tour being postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Brittany's been hanging out in Nashville, TN and I was able to get a few minutes to chat with her about one of her other big passions...and that's fishing! She grew up fishing with her dad down in Alabama and she's carried that passion with her into adulthood. After trying to land trout on Marrowbone Lake outside of Nashville, Brittany was inspired to take up fly fishing. So she booked a lesson with local Fly Fishing instructor, Susan Thrasher. (You may remember Susan from Episode 136.) She fell in love with the fly cast...she does it all! When on tour, Brittany jumps at the opportunity to find some local water and fish during downtime. She's been on lots of great fishing adventures over the years and has even inspired some other fellow musicians to get into the sport. I know you're really going to enjoy our conversation! Mentioned in this Episode:Brittany HowardAlabama ShakesSouthern Brookies Additional Resources:The Woman Angler & Adventurer Facebook PageThe Woman Angler & Adventurer Facebook GroupThe Woman Angler & Adventurer on InstagramThe Woman Angler & Adventurer Podcast WebsiteListen on Waypoint OutdoorsListen on Apple Podcasts (subscribe and leave a review!)Listen on Google PodcastsListen on iHeartRadio! NEW!
