EP. 96 Want Your Fish Photos to Look Stunning? Professional Fishing Industry Photographer Jessica Haydahl Shares Some Tips!
On this week's episode of The Woman Angler & Adventurer podcast, we're excited to introduce you to Jessica Haydahl. You may remember her from Episode 86: Redfish Roadie Bonus: Rollin' in the Minivan episode, but this time we get to go more in-depth into Jessica's personal story in the fishing industry and learn about her career as one of the few full-time female fishing industry photographers. Jessica's also going to share with us some extremely valuable tips so next time you're out in the boat and hook into a big one, you'll be able to put your best photographer foot forward and really be able to showcase your outdoor adventure on social media. Some of Jessica's best tips include:Know Your Device. It's not fair to the fish if you're fumbling around with buttons while you or someone else is dangling it out of the water waiting for a photo. Make sure you have your iPhone, GoPro or other devices down before you go and you'll see your image. Have an Idea of What You Want to Capture. Go on Instagram or Facebook for inspiration and pay attention to the fishing photos or videos you really like, then try to emulate them.Shoot More Thank You Think You Need. If you're documenting your trip via video, shoot more thank you think you need. You'll be surprised when you get to the editing table and wish you had more footage of one thing or another.Pay Attention to Your Device Settings. For instance, if you're going to be taking footage out on a boat on the water to post on social media, you'll want to set your iPhone camera settings to 1080p at 60 fps (frames per second) for best results.
